Oregon Timber, the manufacturer and supplier of timber frame structures to the beleaguered construction industry, has plunged into the red on the back of the rocketing cost of wood, the firm announced yesterday.

The company, which is based in Selkirk, posted a pre-tax loss of pound(s)334,262 for the 2010 calendar year, compared with a pre-tax profit of pound(s)21,705 the year before.
