Summary
IN commenting on the possible reform of the abortion law, David Stevenson (August 24) states that 82% of our MPs are male, and 0% of them will ever have had or requested an abortion. I assume the inference of this is that male MPs should not have a say in a decision that primarily affects women.
Are we not missing something very basic here? When ever did we give the foetus the opportunity to decide whether it wanted to continue to live, or whether it wanted to be killed? For the woman, the decision is a terribly difficult one, but rarely a matter of life or death. For the foetus, the decision is exactly that - "Will they let me live, or will they take my life from me?"See the full content of this document
