A THEOLOGICAL college was yesterday accepted as a training body for Kirk ministers alongside Scotland's four ancient universities, in spite of protests it would produce narrowly focused divinity graduates.
The Rev Douglas Cranston, convener of the ministries council, insisted the acceptance of Highland Theological College in Dingwall, soon to be part of the University of the Highlands and Islands, had come after rigorous inspection of the breadth and quality of its teaching, and would help to attract new Kirk ministers from the Highlands and mature students.See the full content of this document
