A NEW date has been set for the disciplinary hearing over the events leading up to Semple Cochrane's virtual collapse in 2000, when the engineer was forced to write down net assets by about GBP10m mainly because of past profit overstatement.

Following complaints arising from accounting work carried out at Semple Cochrane, three senior Scottish chartered accountants could face unlimited fines and professional disgrace if the complaints are proved against them.
