FIRE chiefs were left red-faced after the floor of a new, (pounds) 1.1m station in Callander, Perthshire, collapsed under the weight of its solitary fire tender.

The floor cracked under the weight of the 16-ton appliance during a training exercise before the opening of the station, which was built to replace the old Callander Fire House.
