KENNY ANDERSON is on the brink of making boxing history, just eight minutes away from Scotland's first ever Commonwealth Games lightheavyweight gold medal, writes Doug Gillon The 23-year-old Edinburgh fighter is desperate for victory, after the disappointment of fifth place in Manchester four years ago, but he is praying that the excitement of his final tomorrow will not bring his wife into labour.

He stopped his Australian semi-final opponent, David McEachran, with 16 seconds of the second round remaining. McEachran could barely lay a glove on the Scot, who led 22-2 at the end, his third insidethe-distance win in four contests. His only opponent to go the distance was English titlefavourite David Jeffries. The Scot's final opponent is a 21-year-old Nigerian southpaw, Adura Olalehin, who has achieved two stoppages.
