BEN HINSHELWOOD, the Worcester and Scotland centre, has quit the game completely, just two months after announcing he was taking a break from international rugby.

Providing the latest evidence of the impact of the demands of professional rugby in a season in which a string of leading Scottish players have retired or taken time out of the Test arena, the Australian-born son of former Scotland and Lions international winger, Sandy Hinshelwood, is only 28.
