MILK wars loomed yesterday when the UK's biggest single producer announced plans to open a new multi-million pound dairy in Scotland.

The announcement by Arla, the British market leader, came after it won a contract to be sole supplier of milk to Asda across the UK, taking (pounds) 70m, or 15% of business, from Robert Wiseman, the leading Scottish competitor.
