AXIS-SHIELD, the Scots-Norwegian diagnostics company, yesterday cleared another hurdle in its plans to launch a test that could help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

The company, which has its headquarters in Dundee and Oslo, has won regulatory approval from the US Food & Drug Administration to sell its patented test for the measurement of vitamin B12 to American research scientists.
