HUNDREDS of engineers working in Scotland's shipyards face the threat of redund-ancy, Mike Turner, BAE System's chief executive, warned last night.

Speaking to reporters ahead of next week's Farnborough airshow, a key industry event, Turner revealed that the defence giant was still mulling the sale of its naval ships business, which includes the Scotstoun and Govan yards on the Clyde.
