CHRIS BAILLIE was the epitome of captain courageous last night, taking maximum points for Glasgow with his 110 metres hurdles victory in the inaugural Super8 in Cardiff's International Sports Stadium. It was the first men's track event, and the Commonwealth silver medallist hoped it would inspire his colleagues. But they could finish only sixth as London South won the pilot edition of an event which was a 2500 sell-out, and thrilled the capacity crowd.

Twenty20 it's not, but this was an encouraging start, even if most fans left believing the wrong team won, because of a scoring mix-up. That was unforgivable.
