AEGON PRO SERIES Jamie Baker will contest a quarter-final in the $15,000 Futures event at Scotstoun in his native Glasgow today after his second-round opponent, Charles-Antoine Brezac from France, retired with a thigh injury at 5-2 down in the first set, writes Bert Mitchell.

He will face Finland’s Timo Nieminen, who beat the top seed, Uladzimir Ignatik, of Belarus, 6-4, 6-1, in today’s last eight and admitted his satisfaction at the return of some extra sharpness to his game.
