BARR Construction, the Ayrshire-based construction company, has been appointed to build a state-of-the art fish research centre in Aberdeen in a contract worth GBP11m, the company said yesterday.

The new Fish Veterinary and Aquaria will replace Marine Scotland's existing fish health facilities in Torry, and will be used by scientists to conduct research and diagnosis activities to support the Scottish Government's aims of enabling a healthy and sustainable aquaculture industry.
