Summary
EVEN on a wet and windy November morning there is no denying the beauty of the Campsie Fells. A blanket of mist and cloud hangs low over the hills, creating an almost mystical feel. There is not a soul to be seen the only company the sheep which roam among the crumbling stone walls and an occasional buzzard circling overhead.
There is an almost barren feel to the landscape, yet it is this unspoiled tranquillity and solitude which makes it so compelling. Standing atop the hillside and looking down at the picture-postcard scenery below - tiny hamlets and villages, acres of farmland, wooded copses and winding burns - is sublime, especially when the sun chases the clouds down the valley, illuminating the gloom and bathing the hillside in dramatic yellow light.See the full content of this document
