Baumann, along with FIBA's president Yves Mainini, met several key figures in the sport in the UK during a two-day visit to London ahead of the vote in Lyon to decide whether Great Britain's men and women should receive automatic spots at the 2012 Olympics.

It is understood that proposals were unveiled to give basketball a permanent base in London, including a British Basketball League team, at the venue which will be utilised initially for the handball competition at the Games.
