I AGREE with Kenny MacLaren (Letters, April 20). Glasgow Airport needs a rail link, but not in the way suggested; the route across the St James playing fields would be an act of vandalism at a time when we are trying to combat obesity in young people and improve sporting achievement. A route from the airport that also linked Renfrew and Braehead to the city centre would seem to be a much better idea, and one that people would use, and bring better links to the town of Renfrew. Has anyone thought of extending the Underground out from Govan to the airport? I freely admit I have no idea about the engineering required, but it could go via the Southern General, Braehead, and Renfrew. Worth a thought?
