BIRD flu was found in a dead swan in Scotland last night and further tests were being carried out to discover whether it is the deadly H5N1 strain.

Preliminary tests had identified highly infectious H5 avian flu in a sample from a swan found in Cellardyke, Fife, making it the first case in Britain.
