THE annual two-day sale of Blackface rams at Lanark ended yesterday on a bright note. The 894 shearlings averaged (pounds) 853 - up (pounds) 44 - while the 228 ram lambs returned at (pounds) 2325, up (pounds) 364 on last year.

Trade for ram lambs, however, was selective, with top breeders' sheep relatively scarce and, in consequence, expensive.
