Summary
HOW lonely Tony Blair looks now. It seems to have been forgotten that a majority in the Westminster parliament voted in support of his illegal war - as did McConnell's puddings in our wee parliament (though prevailing only with Tory help). The ship is going down but the rats are swimming furiously away, leaving Tony to take all the blame. This is hardly fair. If the prime minister goes the cabinet members who supported him should go also.
Gordon Brown stood shoulder to shoulder with Tony on this and supplied, without complaint, many extra billions of pounds for the disgraceful enterprise. If Mr Brown supported Mr Blair because he believed the guff being broadcast to justify the invasion of Iraq he is unsuitable to hold high office. But if he encouraged the prime minister in the folly with one envious eye on Mr Blair's position he is guilty of an act of breathtaking political cynicism which has cost the lives of several hundred US and British troops and about 10,000 innocent Iraqis.See the full content of this document
