It's not something that many of us would notice, but take it from one who knows - the wind in Scotland has been pretty feeble recently. That's good news for most of us, but when a group of committed power kiters are struggling to lift their crafts off the beach, it's frustrating.

On most weekends a trip to Stevenston beach in North Ayrshire will find the Irvine Flyers preparing their power kites for take- off. And waiting for the wind.
