JIMMY CALDERWOOD tried to sign Stevie Crawford in January but failed, and now the Aberdeen manager must feel some trepidation as his team prepares to face Dundee United, the striker's new team, in a Scottish Cup tie at Tannadice tomorrow.

Aberdeen's lack of goals has hampered their chances of finishing third in the Bank of Scotland Premierleague, and so the cup seems their best chance of European qualification. However, Crawford could prove a thorn in their side.
