ALMOST five years since the Boxing Day tsunami, GBP15,000 collected by a Scots charity has yet to be sent to the region, it was revealed yesterday Bairns Aid was set up with the backing of Falkirk Council, to create a "Falkirk Village" in the Jaffna region of Sri Lanka.

Almost 230,000 people died in the wake of the tidal wave, which virtually destroyed 11 countries, with most of Jaffna's flat coastal region being swept away.
