CONTRARY to the point raised in the article, "Public interest in charities waning" (The Herald, July 30), Marie Curie Cancer continues to receive incredible, consistent levels of generosity and support from donors, volunteers and fundraisers right across Scotland.

This is particularly evident in Glasgow, with the continued support for the "Big Build" appeal. With GBP16.1 million needed to build a new hospice for Glasgow, thousands of supporters have contributed to the GBP13.6 million raised so far .
