LOUIS Vuitton Moet Hennessy, the luxury goods giant that owns premium whisky Glenmorangie, said third-quarter sales surged by 24% as its well-heeled clientele snapped up designer watches, handbags and cases of Dom Perignon.

The upbeat news from the Paris-based maker of Louis Vuitton handbags and TAG Heuer and Hublot watches yesterday confirmed the industry's stronger-than-expected rebound, powered in part by expansion in China.
