ALL 34 members of Scottish Opera's chorus were sacked last night just 10 minutes before they went on stage in Edinburgh for a performance of La Boheme.

The timing of the announcement - the first time the chorus had been told officially they would be losing their jobs - was greeted with fury by Equity, the performers' union, which pro-mised to fight the job losses.
