Summary
There are certain companies who create a well deserved buzz before hitting the Edinburgh boards, and once in that theatre city, manage to sustain the goodwill of audiences through the excellence of their offerings. These companies usually have a mission statement, a theme, a general intent. But this is not being pretentious, rather it's dedication to creating interesting, alive and worthwhile theatre.
Belt-Up are a good example of this. A further example, and perhaps a better one, is Wrong Crowd. Created as a partnership between a designer/puppet director and writer/director, Wrong Crowd describes itself as being "passionate about the wild, old stories" and wishing to bring them back to life.
