ALAN Halliday, director for Coca-Cola Enterprises in Scotland, has pledged that the world's largest bottling company will continue manufacturing north of the border, and said there were no plans to outsource production to lowercost locations.

Coca-Cola Enterprises, which employs almost 600 workers at its factory and marketing offices in East Kilbride, produces 22 million cases of soft drinks a year and has considerable autonomy and local decision-making powers, a structure designed to allow rapid response to local demand.
