I SEE that David Blunkett intends to fight for parental rights. You cannot have a serving home secretary involved in a paternity action in the civil courts. It is quite inappropriate. Surely that must be obvious to Blunkett and Blair. After all, Cecil Parkinson [pictured] resigned and he was in a much less sensitive post than Blunkett. It seems, therefore, that New Labour should take a lesson in correct behaviour in public life from the Tories.
