Summary
History repeats itself and careers come full circle. Just as political commentators are hyping up the current financial crisis in terms of the Great Depression, so Ry Cooder goes back, in spirit at least, to the songwriting style of Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly that he favoured on his first two albums.
