THE countdown to this summer's Special Olympics was officially started yesterday in the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow.

Jackie McNamara, captain of Celtic, Maurice Ross, the Rangers defender, , and Lois Weatherup, Miss Scotland, joined special athletes and organisers to give their full support to the 7th Special Olympics Great Britain National Games which begins in the city in 62 days' time.
