CRIMINALS given community sentences of 250 hours are taking more than two years to complete their punishment in some parts of Scotland.

Official figures show that, in Dumfries and Galloway, it took 783 days to finish a 250-hour sentence. The figure was 730 days in Argyll and Bute.
