I entirely agree with the correspondents who say we are sleepwalking into a mechanised nightmare because of windfarms (Letters, April 2 & 4). The economic damage to our tourism industry is being overlooked.

A tourism industry spokesman said they were " monitoring the situation" a few weeks ago . I fear by the time they wake up it will be too late. The Government funded a study on the economic impact of windfarms on tourism in 2008. I wonder if the Government has realised the number of turbines and windfarms on which the study was based does not bear relation to the number of windfarms and proposals that councils are faced with today.
