THE Old Course at St Andrews has reached its limit at the 7279 yards it will measure for this year's 134th Open Championship, according to Peter Dawson, chief executive of the Royal & Ancient club.

"The course could be made longer but I think if that became necessary it would be time to do something about technology instead, " he said yesterday at a news conference in St Andrews.
