DARREN O'DEA expects Tony Mowbray, the new Celtic manager, to select the best two central defenders at the club, irrespective of their rank or reputation. In the estimation of the 22-year-old, he should be one of them.

O'Dea does not believe that particular selection criteria was the case when Gordon Strachan was in charge and Gary Caldwell and Stephen McManus were near ever-presents, a situation which led to the youngster flitting in and out of the side, even when he was convinced his form merited a sustained run.
