Summary

You would think that some journalists and politicians would have learned the lessons of the New Labour spin machine. Is there anyone out there who doubts that David Blunkett will not be cleared? This is a side issue. In fact, if he did do it, fast-tracking this nanny's visa seems to me to be far superior to the policy of ID cards.

The issue which should concern the people is how our new recruits to the Army are being treated. Yet journalists on TV and radio keep mentioning the evidence about Deepcut as "new revelations". There is nothing new about the Surrey Police report. The MoD has had it on its desk since June or July this year. Journalists and politicians should be asking a series of questions relating to this report. Why was it kept hidden? Is this new "training"? Is it because of a "new threat"? How many individuals are facing prosecution?
