scientists have created a tiny device that could lead to chemotherapy without side effects such as hair loss, sickness and weakened immunity, it was announced yesterday.

The device, developed by researchers at Edinburgh University's school of chemistry, triggers reactions in cells and could enable cancer drugs to be activated at the site of a tumour.
