HIGHLAND GAMES Glasgow's Gregor Edmunds proved his ability and consistency when defeating Bruce Aitken (Auchinblae) for the second time in 24 hours in the Scottish Heavyweight Throwing contest at Atholl. Edmunds totalled 38 points overall, winning five events to defeat Aitken, who won just one event and finished runner-up with a total of 35.5 points.
Graeme Allan (Elgin), one of Scotland's top exponents of the 16lb Wire Hammer, made his mark in the traditional Scottish heavyweight throwing events when winning the overall title at Bathgate and West Lothian. He won four of the six events and finished runner-up in the other two to win with 38 points from Mark McDonald (Dumfries), with 27, and Malcolm Cleghorn (Ross County) on 23.See the full content of this document
