CONTROVERSIAL proposals have been approved to close dozens of primary schools across Glasgow as part a [GBP]128m initiative to tackle falling rolls and crumbling buildings.

Despite public opposition, councillors yesterday voted to shut 28 of Glasgow's primaries and build 16 new schools in their place at various locations across the city.
