THE wait is over. Now, Tony Mowbray will make haste in his efforts to reinvigorate an uninspired Celtic team. His strategy will be three-fold: to identify and procure young, emerging talent, to stiffen a withering spine and, perhaps most importantly, to restore pillars of the Gordon Strachan era to their former glory.

The protracted pursuit of the West Bromwich Albion manager became tedious (admittedly more so to poor, scoop-starved sportswriters than an eager support), but the early weeks and months of Mowbray's return promise to be fascinating. His first task should be to revisit an old stomping ground and plunder Hibernian.
