THE Scotland striker Kevin Kyle suggested yesterday that some of the players who have withdrawn from Berti Vogts' squad for tomorrow's friendly here in Denmark could have turned out had they wanted to.

The Celtic duo, Rab Douglas and Jackie McNamara, were joined on the sidelines yesterday by Stephen Pearson, Rangers' Gavin Rae - who will miss the rest of the season after being taken off on a stretcher against Dundee United - plus Paul Dickov, Stevie Crawford and Scott Shearer.
