I WAS disappointed to read Monday's paper in which I was quoted as saying that grants for small-scale renewable energy projects should be scrapped. I did not say this. In the interview which formed the backbone to that piece I suggested that the current scheme needed to change if we are to widen access to microrenewables, but the headline, Plug pulled on green energy grants, is grossly misleading.
The Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative has been both successful and popular, to the point where demand was so high that the executive provided an additional GBP250,000 to its existing budget in late 2005.See the full content of this document
