IT was akin to an episode of Crimewatch. The English are coming, lock up your valuables. First Ian Poulter is almost lifted for loitering with intent at the 18th at Turnberry. Then there was Paul Casey admitting to being an accessory to a spot of purloining on the Ailsa course.

Poulter turned up at the course on Sunday night and "had a little look" at the 18th green. "Security guards came out and said: 'What are you doing? Get off', " he said yesterday. "So that was my first look and I got escorted off in a wagon."
