CELTIC were last night given the green light to make a loan move for Alexei Eremenko, the Finnish international midfielder, after Lecce placed him on the transfer list, writes Mark Wilson. The 22- year-old has been recommended to Gordon Strachan by his chief scout, Ray Clarke, and the Parkhead manager had hoped he would arrive in Glasgow for a trial earlier this month.
Lecce, though, refused to release Eremenko while they debated whether or not to keep him. The player, who has fallen out with Silvio Baldini, the Lecce coach, was insistent about leaving, though, and the club have finally agreed to his request.See the full content of this document
