Summary
I SPENT a half-hour in the Scottish Parliament on Thursday watching First Minister's Questions and the issue of EU funding came up. Scarcely have so few facts masqueraded as debate. The current controversy over the Highlands and Islands projects is seriously misguided. I have had numerous complaints about the heavy-handed nature of Commission ex-post reviews, and I will be rattling cages back in Brussels to see what the problem is.
Scots projects are renowned for good value, and sound management. I have heard nothing but praise from the highest levels of the Commission.See the full content of this document
