Patrice Evra does not believe that his Manchester United side warranted anything more than a defeat against Arsenal on Sunday. The league leaders were edged out at The Emirates by a goal from Aaron Ramsay.

That defeat allowed Chelsea to close the gap at the top of the Barclays Premier table to only three points, with the two sides due to meet on Sunday. Sir Alex Ferguson, the United manager, bemoaned the failure of referee Chris Foy to award a penalty for Gael Clichy's late foul on Michael Owen for his side's defeat to Arsenal, at the same time dismissing a blatant handball by Nemanja Vidic that could easily have led to the United defender being sent off, but Evra feels the blame lies rather closer to home.
