IT has taken time for John Robertson to adjust, writes Chris Tait. He spent three years in the comfort of television studios and press boxes away from the pressures of management, his tactical nous only necessary as a tool to critique others. It was often much warmer in a studio, too.

Robertson must have questioned his decision to leave the security of media work to become East Fife manager on more than one occasion in the past few weeks. His arrival at New Bayview has not instigated much of a resurgence. A 6-0 humbling away to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup is perhaps not a match that he should be judged on, but their league form has been inconsistent since his October appointment.
