THERE was growing uncertainty last night as to how the Scottish Executive would proceed with its plans to buy out the controversial [pounds]9.8m Inverness Airport PFI.

The terms of the deal, which was signed with a consortium led by the Noble Group in 1998, has meant that the more passengers the airport attracts, the more the publicly-owned Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd (HIAL) pays in PFI costs.
