A Man for All Seasons Sunday, 3.55pm, five Messing with Henry VIII was never a good idea. Sir Thomas More, played here by Paul Scofield, was just one of many who got on the king's wrong side. More earned himself an appointment with the executioner's block for falling out with the monarch (Robert Shaw) over his plans to break from the Catholic Church.

This film adaptation of Robert Bolt's play is a heavyweight affair in every sense. Well, Orson Welles plays Cardinal Wolsey, at any rate.
