MOTORISTS who have suffered years of delays between Glasgow and Stirling will finally see the benefits of a pound(s)320 million motorway upgrade in two weeks as the first section of the rebuilt A80 is opened.

A five-mile stretch of newly constructed two-lane motorway between Stepps and Mollinsburn, running parallel to the existing A80, will open to northbound traffic in the week beginning February 7, with the southbound section opening a week later, Government agency Transport Scotland confirmed yesterday.
