FOPP founder Gordon Montgomery reacted angrily yesterday to questions about the arrival of two former HMV managers following a boardroom clear-out that saw four long-serving directors leave his music retail business last month.

Majority shareholder Montgomery refused to either confirm or deny the impending arrival of David Pryde, a former managing director of HMV Europe, and Peter Hill, who was finance director of HMV UK. He did indicate, however, that discussions of some sort are on-going at Fopp.
